Seeing quite a bit of fouled off bunts out there this year. A few things to help get your bunt down 1. Use your knees! You must be able to use flex in your knees to get your bat level with the ball. Bending at waist will have you following the ball down which reduces accuracy 2. Use both hands together. If the top hand moves and the bottom hand does not equally move the bat head drops and your area of contact on the bat that can produce a fair bunt is reduced. Two hands working equally will foster a level bat 3. Get lower - too many are starting with bat at top of the zone which will take alot of movement to get to a bottom of the zone pitch. Start in the middle of the zone for short quick movements 4. Keep your head, more specifcally eyes as close to the plane the pitch is on as possible. Having a head to high means you are looking from above and is harder to judge the plane of the ball I hope this helps and remember - big rips are exciting but many times the team that gets solid bunts down often comes out on top so work it into your practice

the biggest problem is, the girls are trying to bunt to get one base. When they should remember they are bunting to move the runner. Get the bunt down first, then try to beat it out.

Excellent point. You cant get on base without getting it down so focus on geting it down and let what happens happen from there.
